Help with Texmod
Ok folks, I apologize if this is not the correct section for this topic. I really need some help from folks that are smarter then myself... should be a pretty large pool...lol
Let me start off by saying that I am a freak. Not to be self-deprecating, but in terms of my games. Little things annoy the hell out of me and I will stop playing a game for the smelliest issue.
So that leads me to my question. I have been messing with Texmod attempting to make only one single change to the game. The culprit? The overhead health bars. I know some love them and find them useful, but I personally hate them. So I have successfully been able to log the texture and get into edit mode using Gimp 2.4. I attempted to make the texture smaller but it did not work, more then likely because I have no idea what I'm doing and it's a pure miracle that I have learned to use the program at all.
Anyway, I have been told that I probably can't shrink the texture but that I will have to make is transparent. Could anyone please assist me with this? If not walk me through, at least let me know any suggestions on what I may be able to do to accomplish my goal of getting rid of these health bars.
I would appreciate any help anyone could offer! Here's a link by the way of the bar I'm talking about:http://download-v5.streamload.com/65...sted/gw001.jpg
Thanks!

Are you simply trying to get rid of your health bar? Or the enemy/target's health bar. You can always hit "F11" then "Interface" then just un-check the options you don't want to see on screen, this way you don't need to load through texmod every time you load, and it's reversible.
Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, the F11 interface deal doesn't effect the health bar over the head of the target. For some reason, they didn't make an option to turn this off.

It's called "Target Display".

Actually, I just checked that out. Target display is only to show and not show your target at the top. There is no option to disable the health bar for your target over their head, guess I'm sticking with Texmod.
Can anyone help?

Looks like you might be able to make the bar fully transparent. Its worth a shot.
EDIT:Yeah, it worked perfectly. This mod completely removes the overhead bar and arrow on allies and enemies. I'll add it to the wiki shortly, but here's the direct link for now. http://www.mediafire.com/?bxcmj0mwin4 Enjoy!

OMG! I love you soo hard!
Seriously. I know it sounds crazy but those bars were making the game very un-enjoyable for me. Thank you sooo much. I'm going out tomorrow and buying factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North.
Thanks again bro for taking the time to help me! I can't help with much, but I am a PI in RL - so if you ever need anyone looked up, caught cheating or something else, let me know...lol
